BH Cosmetics Haul and Mini Review

Hello Ladies!  I am super excited today because I just recieved a shipment that I have been eagerly awaiting for 11 DAYS!!!!

So as you know Cyber Monday came and went but I took advantage of some of the amazing deals that were being offered.  BH Cosmetics was one of the companies that generously gave incredible deals up to a whopping sixty percent off! I know.  I screamed too.

The only thing that dampened the joy of these deals was the shipping time.  I ordered my goodies on November 28, 2011 and just recieved them today December 9, 2011!!!  In all fairness though I must give the company credit because my frantic calls and emails were only met with responsive, patient and apologetic responses from the BH Cosmetics customer service.

Redemption!

The first item I purchased was their 28 Color Palette featuring all Neutral Eyeshadow Shades!  In my opinion a neutral palette is a must-have for any makeup collector or artist.  Neutral colors are so versatile and can be used to achieve simply looks for a 9-5 job or flirty looks for that oh so sexy first date.

The packaging was very sleek and classy with all black matte finishes and white lettering.  It arrived well protected in a box with many layers of wrapping paper to avoid shattering the color (another plus) so you know your product will arrive in tact.

*Breath slowly and deeply into your nose and through your mouth to avoid fainting*

Once you open the palette, these gorgeous shades greet you.  They range from your lighter shades (which can be used on the lid or to highlight the brow bone) through to your darker shades with can be used on the lid for smoky eyes or in the crease to contour and define your eye looks.

This  palette contains colors are both matte and shimmer.

Check out the pigmentation on these babies!  Absolutely impressive ladies!  I swatched the matte darkest shade which is a charcoal black (bottom) and the darkest shimmer shade (top)!  I am completely in love with this palette and feel that you cannot go wrong with these colors!

The second item, the 26 Shadow Combo Blush/Shadow Neautral Color Palette came packaged the same as the first but featured a mixture of color that can be used as eyeshadows or blushes.  This palette is also features neutral shades and a large variety of blushes which in my opinion would compliment just about any complexion!

Stunning beyond words.........

I cannot begin to tell you how in love I am with this set.....

Im speechless......

Let me just show you.....

Pigment central!

The shades jump out and grab your attention and you are forced to look.  Coupled with the fact that they can double as blushes make the palette an absolute necessity for your collection!

BH Cosmetics  has not disappointed me yet and this purchase makes three successful interactions with the company.  Their products are affordable and the quality is amazing!  BH Cosmetics makes beauty on a budget possible without sacrificing gorgeousness!!!!!!!

Love this company and overall would give them 4.5 out of 5 stars!!!!

Peace and Love Ladies xoxox

A Love Affair: NYX Lip Stick: Iced Lavender

Hello Again Ladies!

Recently, I placed an order with BeautyJoint.com for some NYX products.  Now, for all of you who are new to makeup or just becoming an addict (Im right there with you),  NYX Cosmetics are really difficult to find unless you order online at the NYX Website or other select beauty sites that carry NYX.

Anyway, I digress, my order arrived (Haul Post to come) and one of the shades was a round Lipstick in Shade: Iced Lavender.  Immediately, I fell deeply in love without even applying it to my lips!

Now ladies, this Lipstick is creamy in texture and goes on so smoothly when applied!  However, let me caution by saying that by itself this colour may be a bit much for some (I love it though).

My solution to this is just to line the lips with a dark brown liner and blend!  I used M.A.C's eyeliner in Taupe or Coffee to help tone down the lips for work purposes ;-)  The results were amazing and I loved the fact that it was so easy to blend this lipstick!  See below.....

Ladies, the shades that NYX offers are many but this colour captured my heart....Yes....seriously.  This colour would compliment just about any skin tone and lasts HOURS!

The best part about this Lipstick (and all NYX products sold through BeautyJoint.com) is the price - $1.99 *faints*  I thought this lipstick was a great find!

Are there any great cosmetics finds you have discovered?  Comment below and let me know, I would love to hear about them!

Peace and Love Ladies!!! xoxoxo

Are you "Too Faced"?....

Hello Again Ladies!

Who said that being Too Faced was a bad thing? ;-)

You may be wondering whether the picture above is a fairytale storybook for adults.  I assure you that it most definitely is not!  This fabulous cover is from the Too Faced Sweet Dreams Limited Edition Palette *swoons*.

On one of my many wanderings to Sephora aka beauty paradise (LOVE....THIS....PLACE), the Too Faced aisle caught my eye!  Ok, ok, I will confess, in all honesty, I had been eyeing this palette for some time and felt like it was made exclusively for me and I had to have it.  Plus, I am a sucker for packaging and with the right presentation, you can get me to buy just about anything *so ashamed of my weakness*.

Anyhoo, down to business.  This set comes playfully packaged in a large, mirrored, decorative palette with a pull-out drawer containing get-the-look cards. The palette features 15 pigment-drenched eyeshadow shades that seriously had me drooling!  Pair that fact with the long lasting nature of these colors and you can bet you will be drooling too (trust me).  Also included are two beautiful blushes, a sunny bronzer, and a warm, golden highlighter for the flawless complexion.

These gorgeous hues range from matte colors (no shimmer) to those with shimmer.  My favorite shade from this palette would, interestingly enough, be named "Label Whore".  It is a sort of greenish black with green and gold flecks interlaced in the color *sigh*.

The matte colors are also beautiful and extremely pigmented!  I found that I was able to achieve the color impact literally after the first application!

The colors are a makeup lovers dream because they blend so effortlessly once applied and are easily manipulated once on the eye.

Look at how evenly these colors blend Ladies!
This set is so worth the money and comes with so many must haves that it would be a shame to pass on this!  I love this palette and fully stand by how awesome these colors are!

I give Too Faced two very happy thumbs up!!!!!  Talk to you ladies in the next post that will be featuring a tutorial on how I achieved the look in the picture above (or click the link on tutorial).

Peace and Love Ladies....xoxox

Makeup Forever HD Haul Ya'll!

Hello Ladies!  It's that time again!  While purusing the Sephora website, I came across four products that I have been literally dying to try.  What stopped me, was the fact that one of my desires retails for a whopping forty bucks!!!!  Luck however must have been securely by my side because I spotted these babies in a kit with ALLLLL four products for a blessed $79!!!! (insert screams of joy).  For all my math impaired readers, like myself, this deal meant that my loves were four for the price of two! Yessssss!

SO, the products came in a cutsie box (shown above) and labelled  HD Complexion Starter Kit. The box included The Makeup Forever HD Microperfecting Primer in #0 Neutral, The Makeup Forever Invisible Cover Foundation,  The Makeup Forever Microfinish Powder and finally, The Makeup Forever Kabuki Brush!
The HD High Definition Primer looked like this and has a very milky color, which when applied to the face, becomes transparent.  The lightweight texture of the product offers a perfect oil-free base so that foundation does not settle into pores or fine lines.  The primer also serves to keep foundation looking fresh all day.  *sighs of love*

The Makeup Forever HD Foundation is a full to medium coverage foundation that invisibly covers imperfections.  The oil-free formula  helps to diffuse shine while nourishing the skin.  I choose a #177 which virtually fit my skin tone to a tee!
CAUTION:  I do not have many blemishes to cover up so whereas for me, this foundation works as a full coverage product, for others it may be a more medium finish!

Moving on.......

The HD High Definition Powder serves as a finish to set the foundation.  It is completely translucent and made of 100% silica.  This gives the skin a soft and silky finish that will have you winking at yourself in the mirror after application ;-)

Lastly, I also scored this Kabuki Brush.  This is so convient when you are on the go and cannot fit a large powder brush in your travel bag!  The fibers are made of nylon, which allows a soft yet firm feel.  Using this with the Microfinish translucent powder gives the entire application a flawless finish.

Bottom Line Ladies....

Makeup Forever HD Complexion Starter Kit is alot of bang for your buck!  This is a steal if I ever saw one because the products give your skin a refined finish while still allowing it to breathe.  I give this set five mega stars!

Peace and Love Girlies xoxoxo

Mini Makeup Haul!!!!!

Hello Ladies!  From time to time, I will be doing hauls for you guys to share some products that I am loving!  Recently I made an Avon order and when my item arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cosmetics.  Usually, Avon is not my go-to cosmetics line but I may have to rethink my feelings and reach for that Avon order book more in the future.

So, lets get started...

This stunning shade can be best described as a subtle baby pink.  The official name is Posy Pink Petite Nude # U5 from Avon.  In my opinion, this shade would be exceptional on any skin tone which makes it one of my favs!  I adore colors that compliment a wide variety of women and especially those of color, like myself.
Next, we have a very deceptive shade of pink.  Initially, when ordering this lipstick I thought it would come off differently on the lips.  Ladies, unlike the picture, this shade is HOT pink and I loveeeeee that.  When I applied the color I wanted to melt immediately because I was so surprised by the amazing color and texture of this product.  The texture is mousse creme and hella sexy ladies.  Peep the fierceness on my lips below:

Ahhhh J'adore :-)

Lastly, I scored this amazing blush from Avon as well called Blushing Mauve in number M301.  Now this blush is perfect for giving the cheeks a slight flush of color and is lovely as well on any skin tone!  It is a soft rosy pink and comes in a pigment form.  See below:

Bottom Line:

For all you ladies that have seen Avon catalogs and have overlooked their products, I would advise you to take a second and third look at their cosmetics.  These colors are flattering on any woman and when applied, gives the wearer this sexy feeling (at least it did for me).  I give these Avon products a staggering 5 stars!!!!!!

Peace and love ladies xoxoxo

BH Cosmetics 88 Shimmer Palette Review

Hello Ladies!  Today's review will be on the 88 Color Palette, Standard Shimmer Eyeshadow by BH Cosmetics.

Let me begin by saying that this Palette is to die for!!!!! I have had this palette now for about two weeks and I LOVE IT.  The ordering process from the website was simple and self-explanatory.  The shipping time was speedy (2-3 days) and the product arrived as advertised and all for just twenty dollars plus shipping!

Yes Girlies 20 DOLLARS ONLY.  *slightly faints*

For those makeup lovers (like myself) hoping to get a killer amount of product from this line, BH Cosmetics offers free shipping for orders over fifty dollars.

Now for the Nitty Gritty..........

I know.....just lovely *sigh*.  Upon opening your Palette, you will see 88 Fabulous Shimmer Colors.  The palette ranges from left to right starting with your neutrals, into your greens, into your blues, then pinks, into your reds, browns and finally black (since black is one range, the palette has ONE black).

Included in the palette are two eyeshadow applicators and a handy mirror.

As you can see these colors are highly pigmented which means that the color you see will be the exact color you get on your lid.  Ingenious!!!!  Just so you ladies can see how fabulous the pigmentation on these colors are, I have included a picture of a look I created with this palette below....

Ok Girlies, bottom line.....amazing product, amazing price and quality service!  I give the 88 Color Palette, Standard Shimmer Eyeshadow by BH Cosmetics Five Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Purple Smokey Quickie ;-)

Hello Girlies!!!  This is going to be a post about a look that I created this morning as I was preparing for work (very serious stuff).  I have named it a Quickie Purple Smokey Eye because it took me literally 10 minutes to complete from start to finish.  My later looks will be documented step by step with pictures of each product, but I really wanted to share this one now even though I have not done a step by step tutorial on it for this blog.

So as you can see it looks like a smokey eye with just a slight purple hue.  I wanted to do a smokey eye with a slight twist and I thought purple would be the absolute bestest color to achieve that.  The purple I used for this look came from the BH Cosmetics 88 Shimmer Palette.  I will be doing a review of this palette very soon, but let me just say that I love love love it!!!!

I wanted to show that even a really smoked out eye, if done tastefully, can be appropriate for work.  In the crease of my lids I used the blackest black from the  BH Cosmetics 88 Shimmer Palette, basically blending it into the purple and over my brow bone to achieve the smikey aspect of the look.  As a highlight (below my eyebrow) I used the third gold from the bottom of the same palette.

And finally....the overall look!!!!  I paired my smokey eye with a Revlon shade that is one of my absolute favs called Berry Haute.  Love that shade to pieces ladies!  Closeup of this shade on the lips below:
Ok Lovies, that wraps up this post.  I hope it was helpful or at least entertaining :-).

Peace and Love.......
